Dominion Lux has been developing quickly over the past few weeks. From paving, to window installation, to planning the entertainment space of the facility, the space itself has much to offer the car enthusiast community.
Involvement with companies in surrounding areas is key to keeping Dominion Lux as vibrant as Virginia itself. Governor's Antiques is one of the largest inventories of architectural salvage and reclaimed lumber in Virginia. Jeff Thomas, the Owner, has been working closely with Dominion Lux to create a multitude of captivating elements for the space.

Tell us how Governor's Antiques is involved in Dominion Lux.
“In the owners clubhouse room of Dominion Lux Garages we’re going to be building a bar, we’re building a table, a communal table with cast iron swing out seats out of an old factory cafeteria. We’re welding a sculpture on the wall that’s going to be made out of reclaimed old tailgates. We’re building a light out of a historic beam with carburetors suspended from it and antique bulbs in cages that hang from that, and they’ll drape from the ceiling. Reclaimed beam skins, so the outer quarter inch from these beams out of an old factory. They have all of the patina on them, and they’re going to be on one entire wall. The tailgate sculpture will mount to that.”

Jeff continues with more additions.

“We’re building a bar out of cast iron table with glass shelves and led lighting. A Lot of cool stuff, like a gear wall. A wall sculpture made from gears and other circular mechanical items. We’re still in the design phase of those things. Trying to figure out what the wall can support, but it’ll be a good mix of old/new wood, industrial, reclaimed.”

Paving was a huge step in nearing completion of the project. In lieu of booking private events at Dominion Lux before the first building is fully constructed, a well paved road is not only a necessity, but crucial to the appeal of the space.

It took a total of two days to pave the Dominion Lux site. Chris Cullen (Senate Asphalt & Virginia Paving Company) gives some insight.

What do you think about Dominion Lux coming to Spotsylvania County?
Just looking at the garages it's an interesting project; what they're building and what they're doing here. I'm sure it's really exciting for the car enthusiast community.

How much asphalt did it take to pave the space?
Roughly a little over 700 tons, 640 yesterday. A good amount of asphalt for two days.

ENTERTAINMENT
The use of a garage is an important part of keeping any vehicle in top condition. Whether you own a sports car, sports utility vehicle, or a supercar we can all agree that a garage will save your vehicle from being weathered. However, it goes even further than that. Luxury and Supercar owners alike use a garage not only to save their vehicles from weather, but to protect their investment. Only sixty miles from Alexandria, VA; Dominion Lux offers even more than protection, it offers entertainment.

PAVING THE WAY
For luxury and supercar owners, luxury garage condominiums are becoming more of a necessity throughout America. Dominion Lux, a luxury garage condominium in Woodford, VA was built to fill the need. Featuring an amenity suite, Chrome, owners are able to watch sports on the flat screen televisions, play pool, darts, relax, or host a meeting. Relax in the Refuel Lounge and drink a coffee or bourbon from the Trophy Room Bar.

DOMINION RACEWAY
The neighboring complex, Dominion Raceway & Entertainment, facilitates the Road Course as an amenity for Dominion Lux. With over 60 feet of elevation change this two mile road course is enticing to visitors who continually re-visit to satisfy their need for speed. Dominion Lux provides direct access to the road course at the facility. Dominion Raceway also provides entertaining events such as street racing, and concerts.

Loughridge & Company, LLC, a full service construction company based in Richmond VA, has been working hard to complete the project amidst the recent pandemic. We commend them on their efforts and fortitude ensuring a safe work environment for their employees, as well as the thought and effort that has gone into the project.
